The High Anti-Corruption Court ordered former lawmaker Maksym Mykytas to be remanded in custody, with the option of posting bail of 30 million hryvnias. The prosecutor’s office had requested 200 million hryvnias.
This was reported from the courtroom.
Mykytas is one of the defendants in the “Forest Gump” case. According to the NABU and the SAPO, the participants in the scheme laundered 150 million hryvnias to post bail for Herman Galushchenko, a defendant in the “Midas” case.
To do this, according to the investigation, they used the state-owned “Sens Bank.”
As a reminder, today, the High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) imposed a pretrial measure on Valentin Yelizarov, the head of PJSC “Metrobud”—a subordinate of former MP Maksym Mykytas—in the form of pretrial detention until October 18, with an alternative bail of 20 million UAH.
The court will continue to consider the preventive measure for Iryna Mudriy, former deputy head of the Office of the President, on August 24: the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office is requesting 150 million UAH in bail.
