The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court considered an appeal filed by the defense team of Olga Stefanishyna, the former deputy prime minister and former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States. Her attorneys challenged the pretrial condition in the form of a 6 million hryvnia bail.

This was reported by a “Shelter” correspondent.

The defense requested that the pretrial measure be eased, specifically by replacing the bail with a personal commitment. The attorneys insisted that the allegations are unfounded and that the bail amount set by the court does not correspond to Stefanishyna’s financial situation. The prosecutor requested that the High Anti-Corruption Court’s decision remain unchanged.

As a reminder, Stefanishyna is suspected of illicit enrichment amounting to 13.9 million hryvnias and filing an inaccurate financial disclosure statement.

According to investigators, in 2024 she may have purchased two apartments in the Kyiv residential complex “Faina Town,” which were registered in the name of a close friend. Investigators estimate the cost of the apartments, including renovations, at nearly 11 million hryvnias. Prosecutors cite, in particular, Stefaniishyna’s correspondence with her friend regarding the selection of the apartments and their registration.

Investigators also include other expenses in the amount of alleged illicit enrichment. Some of the allegations concern the inaccurate declaration of property and the use of assets registered in the names of other individuals. The defense rejects these charges.
