Zelenskyy Met with Tusk After His Visit to the U.S.: What the Leaders Agreed On

Donald Tusk and Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on social media.

The meeting took place on July 29, as the Ukrainian president was returning to Ukraine following a visit to the U.S.

According to Tusk, Zelenskyy briefed him on the progress of the talks in Washington. In addition, the parties discussed Polish investments in Ukraine, cooperation in the field of missile defense, and continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

For his part, Zelenskyy noted that during the talks, special attention was paid to the historical dialogue between the two countries, as well as to issues of defense cooperation.

The leaders also discussed security challenges facing Ukrainians who have sought refuge in Poland due to the full-scale war. According to Zelenskyy, it is important that they feel safe there.

According to Polish media reports, the meeting between Zelenskyy and Tusk lasted about an hour. After it concluded, the leaders did not hold a joint press conference.

This is Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s first visit to Poland since the escalation in relations between Kyiv and Warsaw, which arose due to the awarding of an honorary title to one of the Ukrainian military units in honor of the heroes of the UPA.
