Poland detains Russian citizen plotting the murder of a U.S. and Ukrainian national – Tusk

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that a Russian citizen recruited by Russian intelligence services had been detained in Warsaw. His mission was to kill a U.S. citizen and a Ukrainian citizen.
This was reported by Polsat News.
According to Tusk’s statement, the Russian national was arrested on Friday, August 7. The potential victim held dual citizenship—American and Ukrainian. Tusk did not disclose the person’s name but noted that this individual was “inconvenient from the perspective of Putin’s regime.”
“I am not authorized to disclose names, but this is the first case in which someone, acting on Russia’s orders, decided to attack a U.S. citizen on the territory of another NATO country—specifically in Poland, in Warsaw.”

Tusk thanked the U.S. intelligence agencies for their cooperation, which made the arrest possible, and reiterated that Russia is waging a hybrid war against countries that support Ukraine.
