Ukraine has submitted a new proposal to the Hungarian side regarding a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar. Kyiv expects that talks between the leaders could take place in the near future.

Georgiy Tykhyi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a "Shelter" reporter this during a press conference.

According to him, Ukraine had been ready for the meeting ever since Péter Magyar was elected. For quite some time, the parties have been coordinating the leaders’ schedules and a possible venue for the talks.

He added that Ukraine hopes the meeting will take place in the near future. According to him, the talks could help address the entire agenda and contribute to the normalization of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that Péter Magyar might meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided there is progress on the issue of the Hungarian minority in Zakarpattia.
