A massive fire broke out in warehouses near Kyiv following a Russian strike

In the Boryspil district, rescue workers are operating at nine locations. These include private residential buildings, warehouses, and fire hotspots in natural areas.

The emergency responders’ work is being hampered by repeated Russian attacks. Due to the threat of new strikes, rescue workers have already had to suspend firefighting operations several times and retreat to safe locations.

Additional personnel and equipment from the State Emergency Service have been deployed to address the aftermath of the attack.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, on the morning of August 27, a temporary deterioration in air quality was recorded in a number of settlements in the Kyiv region as a result of the enemy attack:

• in the city of Boryspil, elevated levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) and fine particulate matter—which is produced by fires—were recorded;
• air quality temporarily deteriorated in the cities of Ivankiv, Bila Tserkva, Vasylkiv, Obukhiv, and Brovary due to fine particulate matter.

No deterioration in air quality indicators was observed in other settlements in the Kyiv region. Gamma radiation levels in the Kyiv region correspond to natural background levels.

Recommendations for residents of the region from experts: keep windows closed, limit time spent outdoors, drink plenty of water, and use air purifiers in your homes.

According to the Kyiv Regional State Administration, two residents of the Boryspil district—a 15-year-old girl and a 73-year-old woman—were injured as a result of enemy attacks in the Kyiv region.

They do not require hospitalization.

A private home was also damaged.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, had previously reported on the attack.

A fire broke out in a warehouse in the Boryspil district. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish it. All necessary emergency services are on the scene.

In addition, storage facilities in the Fastiv district, a private home in the Brovary district, and a private home in the Vyshhorod district were damaged.

According to preliminary information, there are no civilian casualties.

As a reminder, one person was killed and 12 were wounded as a result of a massive nighttime attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine. Kyiv was attacked with ballistic missiles.
