On the night of September 6–7, operators from the Department of Active Operations of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported that a Russian aircraft had been shot down on the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The extent of the damage to the aircraft is currently being assessed.

The Main Intelligence Directorate called the attack a “gift” for Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Day, which is celebrated on September 7.

Intelligence has not yet provided further details of the operation or information on the condition of the damaged aircraft.

As a reminder, on the eve of and during the night leading up to Monday, September 7, the Defense Forces struck a number of the aggressor’s military targets. In particular, a railway bridge across the North Crimean Canal in the Vladislavivka area was attacked. An ammunition depot and command posts of the Russian Federation’s army were also struck.
