On the night of August 22, Russian forces carried out strikes on railway infrastructure in Kyiv and the Odesa region. The shelling resulted in the death of a company employee, and damage to the train station was reported.
This was reported by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
In the Darnytskyi district of the capital, the enemy struck one of the railway enterprises with a ballistic missile. According to the company’s head, the strike occurred virtually simultaneously with the announcement of an alert due to a ballistic threat. The enterprise’s foreman was killed at the scene. Other workers were quickly evacuated after the first strike.
In addition, the Odesa Railway was targeted – the station building at “Rozdilna” was damaged as a result of the attack. As Pertsovskyi noted, railway workers are already addressing the damage caused by the shelling. Train service was not suspended.
As a reminder, on August 13, in the Odesa region, an enemy “Shahed” drone struck a passenger train directly. Two railway workers – the engineer and his assistant – were killed in the Russian attack.
