Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv: one person was injured in the capital, and fires broke out

On the night of August 15–16, Kyiv came under attack by ballistic missiles. The strike caused fires in the Obolon and Holosiivskyi districts of the capital, and falling debris was also reported. One person is known to have been injured.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on the attack on the capital on the night of August 16 and its aftermath.
According to him, explosions were heard in the city around 2:51 a.m., after which it became known that fires had broken out in two districts.
In the Obolon district, debris fell on the grounds of a non-residential complex. Buildings at two addresses caught fire there. Several cars also caught fire near one of the sites.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a fire broke out on the grounds of a non-residential complex. Emergency services are on the scene, working to address the aftermath of the attack.
As of 3:35 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration reported one person injured. No further details regarding the person’s condition have been provided at this time.
As a reminder, on the evening of August 15, Russian troops struck a farm in the Zaporizhzhia district. A 61-year-old man was injured as a result of the attack. Hangars, agricultural machinery, and equipment were also damaged, and a fire broke out on the farm’s grounds following the strike.
