On September 9, while extinguishing a fire caused by debris from a downed aerial target, a secondary explosion occurred, injuring four rescue workers in Khmelnytskyi. They were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

This was reported by Serhiy Tyurin, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration.

The explosion occurred while rescue service personnel and equipment were being deployed at the scene.

The fire at the market was quickly extinguished.

Earlier reports indicated that on the evening of September 9, during an air raid alert in the Khmelnytskyi region, air defense forces were active. As a result of the downing of an aerial target, debris fell onto the grounds of one of the city’s markets, where a fire broke out.
