Kyiv bid farewell to Polish volunteer Marek Rusek-Wolski, who was killed in Kharkiv

The funeral service took place at St. Alexander’s Church. The volunteer’s family, friends, representatives of the volunteer community, and diplomats gathered to honor his memory.

The ceremony was attended by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga and Piotr Lukasevich, Poland’s Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine.

During the farewell, Sibiga thanked Marek Rusek-Wolski for his assistance to Ukraine.

Marek Rusek-Wolski regularly traveled to Ukraine on humanitarian missions. He helped people in frontline areas, particularly in the Kharkiv region and the Kupiansk sector, where he delivered humanitarian aid.

The volunteer was killed on July 27 in Kharkiv as a result of a Russian drone attack. His death was reported on July 30 by the volunteer community “Together for Ukraine,” of which he was one of the administrators.
