Russia reports strikes on the Savasleika airfield and a facility in Samara

On the night of August 14–15, Russian sources reported a strike on the Savasleika military airfield in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, where MiG-31K fighters—carriers of “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles—are based. In Samara, there was also reportedly a strike on one of the industrial facilities.

In Samara, local residents reported a missile strike. Initially, social media users speculated that the strike had hit the Aviakor aircraft plant.
Later, another version emerged—the strike likely hit the State Scientific and Production Rocket and Space Center “CSKB-Progress,” which is located next to “Aviakor.” This information is being circulated by local residents, but there is no independent confirmation.
“CSKB-Progress” is engaged in the development, production, and operation of medium-class launch vehicles, as well as unmanned spacecraft.
In response to reports of an attack on Russia, Fire Point co-owner Denis Shtilerman posted a video of a rocket launch on social media.
