An attack has been reported in Togliatti: preliminary reports indicate that “KuibyshevAzot” was hit

"KuibyshevAzot" is a large Russian chemical plant specializing in the production of nitrogen chemicals and polymers. The plant manufactures ammonia, urea, and ammonium nitrate, which are used, among other things, as fertilizers.

The plant also produces caprolactam—a raw material for nylon production—as well as sulfuric acid and other chemical products. The plant produces polyamide plastics and synthetic fibers used in the automotive, textile, and electronics industries.

As a reminder, "Shelter" previously reported that on September 10 and during the night of September 11, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key Russian military targets, including two "Pantsir-S1" systems, a radar station, and a defense industry facility.
