A strike on the subway, damage to the railway, and fatalities: the aftermath of Russia’s attacks in the Kharkiv region

Two civilian men were killed as a result of enemy attacks. Seven more people sustained injuries and psychological trauma during the shelling of residential areas and civilian infrastructure. In a separate incident, a man was killed when he triggered an unknown explosive device while driving on a highway.

In total, Kharkiv and facilities in five districts of the region were targeted by enemy strikes:

• Kharkiv: As a result of a drone attack, the glass at the entrance to one of the metro stations was damaged;
• Medical and railway infrastructure: a building and a specialized emergency medical vehicle were damaged, as well as railway facilities;
• Energy and business: damage to power grids was reported in several districts, along with the destruction of buildings belonging to two enterprises, warehouses, and a retail outlet;
• Residential sector: Private homes and cars were damaged.

Weapons Used and the Situation on the Front Lines

To strike the region, the invaders used two missiles, fired from multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), and deployed more than 80 drones of various types (including “Geran-2,” “Lancet,” “Molniya,” FPV drones, and other UAVs).

Active combat operations are ongoing in the region. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian units repelled 12 enemy attacks in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction and 2 attacks in the Kupiansk direction.

As a reminder, over the past 24 hours, on August 7, Russian forces carried out 978 strikes on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of enemy attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population.
