Strike 1,000 km from the front line: The General Staff confirmed an attack by the Defense Forces on the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery in the Samara Region of the Russian Federation

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces.

The target is located about 1,000 kilometers from the front line, the Unmanned Systems Forces noted. The extent of the damage inflicted on the facility is currently being assessed.

The Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation and is part of PJSC “Rosneft.” Its production capacity is approximately 8.8 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The plant manufactures more than 20 types of products, including automotive and aviation fuel, diesel, and lubricant components used to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.

As a reminder, on the night of August 22, explosions were heard in Novokuybyshevsk, in the Samara Region of Russia. There were reports of a possible attack on the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery, which is one of the largest refineries in the Volga region.
