Evening Address: Zelenskyy Discussed the Threat of a Large-Scale Strike, the Investigation into the Attack on the Training Ground, and a New Wave of Mobilization in Russia

The president made this statement during his traditional evening address.

According to the head of state, Ukrainian intelligence and international partners have provided information about preparations for another massive shelling. The enemy attack could take place within the next 48 hours.

The president also commented on the Russian attack on a military training ground in the Kyiv region. He said he had already heard reports from the prosecutor general and the heads of law enforcement agencies, and that criminal investigations had been opened into the incident.

In addition to the threat of shelling, Zelenskyy said that intelligence had detected Russia’s preparations for a large-scale wave of mobilization this fall.

This is because the occupiers’ current losses on the front lines exceed their recruitment numbers.

As a reminder, on Friday, July 24, Russian troops reportedly carried out a targeted strike on the training ground where the weapons exhibition was taking place. The strike resulted in casualties and significant damage. At the same time, participants in the arms exhibition confirm the Russian strike on the training ground. According to them, there are currently not enough ambulance crews at the site of the attack. As is known, the announcement about the exhibition being held at an open training ground was freely available online.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the civilian facility targeted by Russia’s missile strike on July 24 is not under the jurisdiction of the Armed Forces. Ignat also reported that any public gatherings within the military have long been strictly prohibited.
