Over the course of a week, Russian forces deployed more than 3,170 weapons against Ukraine. Most of the missiles fired were various types of ballistic missiles.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this.

Over the course of the week, 13 regions of Ukraine came under enemy attack. In total, the Russians launched the following against Ukrainian cities and communities:

  • more than 1,550 attack drones;
  • nearly 1,560 aerial bombs;
  • 62 missiles, the vast majority of which were ballistic.

The head of state emphasized that “wherever the Russians can reach with ballistic missiles, they strike civilian infrastructure.” He once again appealed to allies to speed up the delivery of air defense systems and not to keep them in storage:

When North Korean ballistic missiles are destroying infrastructure and taking lives here in Europe, we cannot allow European interceptors to simply sit in warehouses. We must protect lives. Russia must be stopped. New aid packages literally mean lives saved and infrastructure protected every day

As a reminder, on the night of August 16, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, targeting the civilian mining and metallurgical enterprise PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.” Two people were killed, and others were injured. Additionally, Kyiv came under attack by Russian forces that same night. As a result of the attack on the capital, three people were injured, and fires broke out and damage occurred in two districts.

And on the night of August 15, Russian forces launched a drone strike on the town of Marganets in the Nikopol district. An enemy drone struck a high-rise residential building. A three-month-old boy was killed as a result of the attack.
