Russia may resort to a new mobilization after the State Duma elections—Russian infrastructure is already prepared for such a scenario.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a conversation with journalists.
According to him, until the elections are over, Russian authorities will try to convince the public that there will be no mobilization.
Zelenskyy suggested that the Kremlin hopes to avoid additional tension in society and prevent a negative atmosphere from developing ahead of the vote.
After the elections, Russia may carry out either an open or a covert mobilization. It is currently unknown which format will be used.

He added that Russia’s infrastructure is already prepared for mobilization efforts. At the same time, a new large-scale recruitment drive will be difficult and costly for Russia.
As a reminder, Russia is losing up to 1,500 soldiers a day but still has the resources to continue fighting. To make up for these losses, they are recruiting foreigners from more than 40 countries into the army. The Kremlin is planning a major mobilization.
