The court remanded a soldier in custody in the case involving the planting of drugs on Shirshin, a former combatant of the 47th Mechanized Brigade

The soldier will remain in custody until November 8, 2026. At the same time, the court set bail at nearly 15 million hryvnias, specifically 14,976,000 hryvnias.

The court hearing was held behind closed doors. The suspects’ attorneys requested this, arguing that it could lead to the disclosure of state secrets and information about the military unit’s deployment.

Serhiy Novikov, a prosecutor with the Office of the Prosecutor General, insisted that the hearing be held in open court.

One of the defense attorneys also stated that one of the suspects holds the title of Hero of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on August 28, Shirshen, a former battalion commander with the 47th Mechanized Brigade, claimed that “weed had been planted on him” due to a conflict with the command.

Subsequently, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the investigation had identified three individuals involved in the incident. They are former law enforcement officers who are now military personnel. In collusion with unidentified individuals, they organized covert surveillance of Shirshyin.
