Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during the talks in Kyiv on September 6, three rounds of meetings took place with U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as representatives of European partners. According to him, during the meeting, “everything was discussed,” including the possibility of a ceasefire.
This was reported by "European Truth" and TSN, citing comments made by the President of Ukraine following the conclusion of the meetings.
Zelenskyy stated that all the meetings were “very substantive.” The parties discussed possible terms for ending the war, short-term support for Ukraine, and the issue of strengthening air defense.
It is noted that the head of state joked that Witkoff and Kushner’s visit to Kyiv “worked better than the Patriot systems.” The president expressed hope that U.S. representatives would visit more often so that Ukrainians could at least “live a little” without Russian shelling.
You can joke about the Patriot system sometimes, but nevertheless, we understand that this is a very pressing issue, one that is very important to us… If the war continues into the winter—and so far it looks that way—we are counting heavily on the “winter package,” which I discussed in detail today with Steve, Jared, and our European partners

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is counting on air defense systems, energy support, and the ability to use American liquefied natural gas.
The territorial issue remains relevant… This doesn’t mean we spent a long time discussing it, but we had the opportunity and did discuss it. I stand by my view that such complex issues can only be resolved at the leadership level

According to the president, during the talks they also raised the issues of security guarantees, economic guarantees, reconstruction, and a “prosperity plan” for Ukraine.
We understand what our army must be like—it must be strong—and that is our primary security guarantee. All of this requires resources. And you understand this perfectly well; we all understand it. That is why the guarantees must be strong and clear

In addition, he noted that Ukraine, Europe, and the U.S. will hold a trilateral meeting in the near future. Zelenskyy emphasized that today’s foreign guests “did not come here for nothing.”
As a reminder, on September 6, U.S. presidential special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as representatives of European partners—including France, the United Kingdom, and Germany—arrived in Kyiv for talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
