Zelenskyy met with the German Foreign Minister: What They Discussed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, who arrived in Ukraine to participate in the 9th International Veterans Forum in Kyiv.
This was reported by the Office of the President.
Zelenskyy briefed the German minister on the consequences of Russian attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and people. Johann Wadephul expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and to all those affected. At the same time, the minister plans to visit several regions of Ukraine where the situation has become difficult due to enemy shelling.
It is noted that the parties discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and supporting Ukrainians ahead of the winter season. The president called strengthening Ukraine’s air defense the number one priority. He thanked Germany for its leadership on this issue and for “its efforts to provide as much assistance as possible despite all the existing difficulties.”

Separately, the president emphasized the need to protect the transportation routes for Ukrainian agricultural products, which are facing significant difficulties due to attacks by Russia.
They also discussed the teams’ work on the “Drone Deal” agreement, “with the aim of signing this document in the near future.”
It is noted that the parties also discussed preparations for the Coalition of the Willing meeting in Kyiv and diplomatic efforts. In particular, Zelenskyy reported on contacts with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump.
As a reminder, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Germany has provided Ukraine with over 65 billion euros in aid and remains one of Kyiv’s key partners in the areas of security, defense production, and future reconstruction. According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, Germany was the first country to launch joint defense production on Ukrainian territory.
