Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on international partners to approve the transfer of additional missiles to Ukraine for its Patriot air defense systems and to intensify sanctions against Russia.
He announced this in his address.
According to the president, international support should be expressed not only in statements but also in concrete decisions that will help protect Ukrainians from Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy also emphasized the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia. In particular, against legal entities and individuals involved in the production of Russian ballistic missiles and launchers, as well as the supply of components to the Russian military-industrial complex.
In addition, he called for tightening restrictions on Russia’s fuel sector to prevent the revival of its oil refining industry.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also held talks with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The President of Ukraine noted that during the conversation, special attention was paid to the United Arab Emirates’ potential participation in strengthening security in Europe, particularly in the Black Sea region.
This concerns food security, the security of maritime routes, and increasing opportunities to protect lives. They also discussed bilateral projects in various fields

As a reminder, on the night of August 1, Russian forces launched a massive combined strike on Ukrainian territory, firing 35 missiles of various types and 185 attack drones. The main target of the strike was Kyiv and the Kyiv region. During the attack, Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down only one enemy ballistic missile—due to a critical shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems.
