On the night of August 21, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Sumy. According to preliminary reports, at least two people were injured, and the strikes hit four locations.
This was reported by Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration; Oleg Grygorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration; and Artem Kobzar, acting mayor of Sumy.

A two-story residential building was at the epicenter of one of the strikes. According to Grigorov, it sustained extensive damage.
