The death toll in Kyiv has risen following the Russian drone and ballistic missile attack on August 5

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Thus, two people were killed and another 26 were wounded as a result of the Russian attack on the capital.

On the night of August 5, due to shelling by the aggressor country, fires and destruction were reported at more than seven locations in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, Desnianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.

It was reported that an ammonia leak also occurred in the Holosiivskyi district, which was promptly contained by the relevant services.

The mayor of Kyiv and the city’s military administration reported damage to residential infrastructure. 

In addition, Russian shelling destroyed warehouses belonging to logistics companies, retailers, and other businesses. Warehouses belonging to Toyota and LIQUI MOLY, as well as distribution centers for Silpo, Nova Poshta, Epicenter, Rozetka, and others, were damaged or completely destroyed.

As a reminder, on August 5, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, with the Kyiv region as its main target. The enemy used 4 “Zircon”/“Onyx” anti-ship missiles, 24 “Iskander-M”/S-400, as well as 115 attack drones of the Shahed (most of which are jet-powered), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parodia” decoy drone types.
