“Every second strike on Kharkiv was carried out by FPV drones”: Terekhov spoke about the enemy’s change in tactics

According to Terekhov, the occupiers carried out 51 attacks using FPV drones in July, 45 of which resulted in explosions, while six other drones failed to detonate. He noted that FPV drones have become one of the main tools of terror against the city. They attack civilian cars, trucks, grain trucks, water delivery vehicles, as well as gas stations and other civilian facilities.

The mayor added that he is working with the military and the regional military administration to strengthen defenses against such attacks. To this end, various technical solutions are being tested, some of which are manufactured and installed by municipal utilities.

In addition, the Russians have used guided aerial bombs, as well as jet-powered and conventional drones such as the “Shahed,” “Italmas,” “Molniya,” and “Banderol,” against Kharkiv, along with “Tornado-S” multiple-launch rocket systems.

Ihor Terekhov emphasized that the Russian strikes were not directed at military targets, but rather at residential neighborhoods, hospitals, educational institutions, civilian enterprises, and administrative and commercial buildings. Public transportation, roads, power grids, gas pipelines, railway and energy infrastructure, gas stations, and civilian vehicles were also damaged.

In total, air raid alerts were sounded 278 times in Kharkiv during July. Their combined duration accounted for nearly two-thirds of the entire month.

As a reminder, on August 1, Russian troops launched massive strikes on the territory of Kharkiv and 19 settlements in the Kharkiv region. The enemy used missiles, guided aerial bombs (KAB), and dozens of drones of various types. As a result of the enemy’s terror, 10 civilians were injured, including three children.
