Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv: 9 people were killed and 27 others were injured

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Kyiv City Military Administration.

The State Emergency Service reported that the number of casualties in Kyiv has risen to 27 people, including four children.

Rescue workers also clarified that 105 people have already been rescued during emergency response operations. Work continues at the sites of the Russian strikes.

UPDATE 6:30 a.m.

The State Emergency Service reported that the death toll in Kyiv has risen to nine, with another 23 people injured. The aftermath of the Russian ballistic missile attack has been documented in five districts of the capital.

In the Solomyanskyi district, two people were killed and eight others were injured, including two children. Rescue workers evacuated 35 people from the upper floors of a building; three of the injured were hospitalized.

In the Darnytskyi district, seven people were killed and 14 others were injured, including two children. Administrative and non-residential buildings, residential buildings, and cars were damaged. A crater formed in one of the parks, and the roadside was on fire in several sections along one of the streets.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a non-residential building, ambulances, and the grounds of a film studio were on fire. At one of the addresses, rescue workers found an injured person.

Damage was also reported in the Dniprovskyi district, where a store was damaged, and in the Pecherskyi district, where four private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged.

Initial reports from city authorities indicated the following consequences of the attack:

• Solomyanskyi District – A fire broke out in a six-story non-residential building. Additionally, people were trapped in a five-story residential building due to falling rocket debris, and a fire broke out in the courtyard. Furthermore, cars caught fire in the parking lot.
• Darnitskyi District – Debris was reported to have fallen on the grounds of a non-residential complex. A missile also struck the grounds of a non-residential complex. Additionally, warehouse buildings were on fire.
• Holosiivskyi District – Debris fell on the grounds of a non-residential complex.
• Shevchenkivskyi District – A fire broke out at a car wash. In a residential building where people are trapped, the first and second floors were partially destroyed.

As a reminder, on the night of July 30, Russia also launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and three others were injured. Fires broke out in the Svyatoshyn and Obolon districts, damaging residential buildings, a market, a garage cooperative, warehouses, and cars.

At the same time, Russian propagandists on the “Solovyov Live” program claimed that the strikes on Kyiv were primarily intended to create a “media effect” rather than serve any military purpose. Ukrainian journalist Denis Kazansky noted that such statements effectively confirm that Russia is deliberately terrorizing the civilian population.
