Russians attacked Sumy with strike drones; one person was injured

On the evening of August 16, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Sumy using strike drones. According to preliminary reports, one person was injured.
This was reported by Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, and Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City State Administration.
According to Kryvosheyenko, Russian “Geran”-type UAVs struck a civilian infrastructure facility in the Zarichny district. A fire broke out there.
Jet-powered drones also attacked residential areas, damaging a significant number of homes.
According to Grigorov, the strikes caused large-scale fires. Details regarding the consequences of the attack are still being clarified. The attack continued, and the threat of further strikes persisted in the city.
The day before, on August 15, a Russian drone struck a civilian vehicle in central Sumy. A 59-year-old man was killed, and his wife was injured.
