Drapatyi dismissed Army Chief of Staff Gruzevich, – hromadske
Oleksandr Gruzevych

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi dismissed Oleksandr Gruzevych from his post as Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Army. According to hromadske, the reason was dissatisfaction with his performance.

A source at the General Staff told hromadske about Gruzevich’s dismissal.

According to the source, the leadership was dissatisfied with his performance as Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces. The source also claims that Gruzevich delayed the adoption of necessary decisions.

Gruzhevich just sat there and kept saying, “Oleksandr Stanislavovych is my boss,”

According to hromadske, after his dismissal, Gruzevich was transferred to a reserve battalion. Service members are typically stationed there after being removed from their posts until they receive a new assignment.

On July 21, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Oleksandr Syrskyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and appointed Mykhailo Drapatyi to replace him.

The very next day, the head of state announced the appointment of Major General Ihor Skybyuk as Chief of the General Staff, explaining that this marked the beginning of a renewal of the military leadership.
