Most Ukrainians oppose handing over the entire Donbas region to Russia, even in exchange for security guarantees.

Sergiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, commented on a statement by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, in which he expressed “deep concern” over the ongoing escalation and condemned Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.

Russian troops launched a drone attack this morning on a market in the Bilopil community in Sumy Oblast. Civilians were injured in the strike.

Russia continues to use Ukrainian prisoners of war to form combat units, which constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law.

In Yekaterinburg, Russia, reports emerged overnight of a drone attack on a Wildberries warehouse.

On the evening of August 6, Russian forces launched strikes on Zaporizhzhia and the village of Vysokopillia in the Kherson region. In the Kherson region, a 21-year-old local resident was wounded; in Zaporizhzhia, there were no casualties.

In the Izmail District of the Odesa Region, a 16-year-old boy was injured during a Russian attack on civilian infrastructure.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that the issue of intercepting Russian missiles while they are still over Ukrainian territory requires serious discussion.

At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the government has adopted a decision to ensure a more efficient distribution of electricity. Lists of critical facilities will now be compiled separately for the winter and summer periods.

Ukraine expects to achieve the necessary results in developing its own ballistic missile capabilities and a new anti-ballistic missile system as early as 2026–2027.
